When to Start Planning Your 2027 Holiday Party

Every year around October our inbox fills up with the same message. We want to do a holiday party, is it too late? Sometimes it isn't, but the best venues in Toronto for December are usually booked by the end of summer. So here is our honest timeline if you want your pick of the room.

8 to 10 months out

Lock in your date and venue. Fridays and Thursdays in the first two weeks of December go first, so if you have flexibility a Wednesday or an early January party can open up a lot more options and usually a better rate.

6 months out

Set your budget and guest count, then bring in the big pieces like catering, entertainment and AV. This is also the time to decide on the feel of the night. A seated dinner, a cocktail reception with stations, or something more playful all change what you need.

3 months out

Design, décor, invitations and any branded touches. Invitations should go out about 6 to 8 weeks before the party so people can hold the date.

The last month

Final guest count, run of show, transportation and the little things that make it feel considered, like a coat check that actually moves or a late night snack nobody saw coming.
